Massey = Madsey

It's been about 4 months since I've started school. 1 month of degree preparation program, 3 months of insane mugging and reports. And there goes one semester! Fast? Yup. Hectic? Double yup. Worst part was having the last paper the day before internship/attachment. I've got to wake at 5.30am, alright technically 6am, cos i would tend to snooze for some time cos who would be able to wake up properly at that hour seriously? But I've got to admit it's better than not having an attachment.

Complain, complain and more complains. LOL. Though I can't deny that school does have it's fun side. Chionging reports together, mugging till 10pm.. Playing pranks on people, having fun with some of our lecturers and ving occasional outings.

"Just had a week of utter madness, Mon last paper, Tues to Sat attachment waking at 5.30am. Went out 6 out of 7 days. Conclusion: dead beat." this is what I just posted on my fb lol. Seriously it's tiring.. I just hope Christmas would make up for my sleep and leisure time. Thank God i don't have to work this coming sat. Hurray to long weekends!

To the zoo!

lol yup i went to the zoo on sunday with a bunch of friends, it was nice. It wasn't my idea though lol clement suddenly came up with the idea. It was a good day off for me, plus i havent been to the zoo for more than ten years lol. We never went to the night safari though i was too tired anyway. The penguins were cute lol.

On saturday, i had a nice cultural experience with my boy at a northern indian restaurant "Annalakshmi" at chinatown point, where they serve vegetarian food. But the interesting part is that the let you pay as you feel, yeah any amount you think is worth the meal that you're having. It was a weekend thus it was a buffet meal, to me the food was good enough to allow you to forget about the existence of meat lol. The fried spiced rice was good, curries were as flavourful as i would have expected. The desserts were interesting and so were some of their drinks. I read that on average people pay from a range of 5 to 10 bucks. The waiters and staff were mostly volunteers (i got that info from their website), there were paintings hung on the walls to display their artistic and cultural heritage. I was rather heart warmed by their friendly staff who don't get paid but still put in reasonably good effort into the food and service. We paid ten bucks each for the meal which we were rather satisfied with, though we left wondering if it's generous enough. For those who want to go there on weekends do make reservations before hand, cause their business is rather good.

Stayed home on monday to study for the test on tuesday, thank goodness for the public holiday lol.. rest of the week was the same old school stuff.. then here comes friday, today that is. It's a wonder how time flies sometimes, we had a nice farewell lunch with Prof Harding at al-ahzar coffee shop. Then the class split, some of us went to catch the movie "Fame" it was not bad i think i'd rate it 7/10, then we went to the arcade to play some games lol it's been ages since i've been to one. After which we went home though i wanted to hang out till late but i had dinner waiting for me.

Argh thursday is inching nearer!! Which means the crappy exam's here soon, and yet i'm here blogging instead of studying LOL.. i'm so darn lazy today.. oh well.. there's still tomorrow but got a friend's birthday to go to.. crap when am i going to start studying?! Oh well.. TTFN~

Feels like the holidays again..

It finally feels like the holidays again, for once.. There was only a two hour revision lecture on friday.. and i was in holiday mood since thursday lol with my brain ever so unwilling to absorb.. Next weekend wouldn't be so great though especially with a test and exam coming up..

Thurday evening was rather interesting, we brought the lecturers to tour the city area then went to lau pa sat for dinner. It was fun though the food wasn't that great. Then there was this commotion with angmos and durians which i missed as shuwen, jessica and i went hunting for a washroom which was a darn hilarious journey.

Friday was rather an eventful day.. Not exactly filled with good events though.. Prof Jameson had stomach flu the entire day.. Poor man. We were suppose to accompany him to night safari as he had wanted to go since a year ago. We tried to make Jameson feel better by getting him medicated oil, hot chrysanthemum tea and some nibbles. After which there was captains ball with the seniors which was rather exciting, it felt great to play sports again, got back the secondary school feeling lol.. It was a real stress reliever. Though i had to injure my big toe while jumping and landing on it due to my loose shoe. My nail turned blue after that.. big fat bummer. And i had to crawl back home.. Thanks neighbour for crawling back with me. It's only now i get it why the seniors would want to squeeze time out for a "sports day", cause it really allows you to forget about the existence of school work.. well temporarily, but it's good enough lol.

Then comes saturday, lan gamer's gang went out to celebrate birthday at sakura. It was great to meet up again, now it really felt like the holidays lol. Especially when after we ate we went to the lan shop at paradiz for 3 fulfilling hours of L4D. Haven't played L4D for quite a while now, actually i haven't got to play any real games since school started! I'm such a no life in uni. Then we went to look for movies to watch but unfortunately the timings weren't right. Thus we split up and i had dinner with my boy at billy bombers as he's got a voucher from safra. My darn toe was still giving me movement problems the entire day hope it gets better tomorrow.

Sunday!! I'll be lazying at home today to recover my toe and to do some revision when i don't feel so lazy.. lol. Now i envy poly life, it's so darn carefree as compared to this. Oh well i'm going to lazy off now TTFN~

"Nuttiness"

Oh gosh i've been so busy ever since school started. I finally got the chance to blog! lol I'm still not exactly very free though. Just had a test today which is worth 15% of the entire darn module which i think i only just passed it.. how i wish i aced it. Then there's countless reports which have to be handed in the very next day after the experiment. Madness. Yet it's expected though.

To date 2 of my friends have quit this course, mainly due to stress.. perhaps another one is on her way too. It's rather disappointing and demoralising at the same time. I just hope none of them would regret it in the future. For me quiting isn't an option. There ain't no easy way out in life. Like what Prof Goh says "life goes on" LOL. We've just got to look at the bright side of life. How many people actually get the chance to get into a university that they wanted? I came into Massey knowing it isn't going to be easy so i can't complain much it is as crazily tough as i expected. Though it's said that the seniors had a better more manageable timetable than us which is why they could cope better. Darn it. But oh well.. I think at the end of the day it's all about adapting and getting used to it, then it's just down hill from there. Alright not totally down hill but it would be more managable once you get used to it.

As the song goes.. "always look on the bright side of life.." though it's rumored that the singer committed suicide lol. I wonder. Oh well i'll stop here TTFN~

PS: To my fellow classmates, Rock on! You ain't alone!

Got hit hard with assignments

First day of school, i've got 35 classmates of some i knew, first day was alright i guess.. wasted much time on "cloning" the laptop and we were suppose to take photos for our sp admin card but the person in-charge had to leave at 5pm, thus it was postponed.

Second day of school was a rush, if my memory hasn't failed me, we haven't had time for a proper lunch as we had assignments to do already! Assignment was to be handed in the next day which makes things worse as most of out days start at 9am and end at 5pm, with only an hour break for lunch! We had to stay back in school until 7 or 8pm to complete the group assignment. This went on for the rest of the week. Had bread for lunch for 3 out of 5 darn days, just to finish our work on time. And since lunch was at 1pm for the entire week it was impossible to get a chance to eat cream pasta at FC1.. Aww drats i so hate the lunch timing.

The lecturers said this 1 month degree preperation programme was deliberatly made extremely tough so that we could better adept to our actual university life. Crap. And i expected a more relaxing first week, as it was well the first week!? The lecturers would come on the hour hence we wouldn't have much breaks in between lessons. They'd only occasionally give us 3minutes washroom break then back to all the teaching. From what i heard, quiting crossed the mind of one of my classmate. Indeed it was stressful but i bet there's more to come. Though i think some of us kind of took the assignments a little too seriously, but well the up side is that it'll train us up better.

I'm still not used to waking up early in the morning, therefore i'm tired most of the time. I can't quit sleep early too. If it weren't for the assignments perhaps it wouldn't be that bad. Hours felt like days when i'm tired. I think it is mostly due to the extra long holiday that we had before school begun, that we just could not adapt to a hectic schedue in such a short frame of time.

There was another problem. The textbooks. Urgh. Which are useful we do not know, the seniors offered to sell their 2nd hand books for 15% cheaper but i didn't get any from them. On the averahe each book costs around 60bucks. And we've got like i think 7 books to get? Some said that if the book was so useful why would the seniors want to sell them? I simply have no clue whatsoever. The books are ordered from NUS book store, so i guess when i need the books i'd either buy them from NUS or borrow from the library. Getting the books too soon doesn't seem like a good idea if you ain't rich, though we are already being bugged to note down which books we want to buy then they'd order and send it to sp. Think i'll take my chances.

Back to school, back to reality.

I just received my timetable for the month of august as we would be having intensive degree preparation programme. It's when i look at my timetable then reality hit me so hard on the head that i realised that my holiday is over. lol. I'm left with my precious 3days worth, excluding today of course. Think i got too used to slacking. Oh man. Too much ps3 with corn lately. LOL. I got to snap out of holiday mood soon. Ahhh!.

For august most of the days would be 9am to 4pm. Gosh i didn't know we'd be starting on basic biochemistry and applied physics in the first month.. no worse the first week. No more sleeping at 1 or 2am lol. I wonder if i would be able to turn my bio-clock back to 11pm or 12am. Oh crap. The more i look at the timetable the more rusty i feel. Think my brain cells have gone into hibernation mode as they've been away from school and unused for so long lmao.

Frankly speaking i did not expect the degree prep to be so.. now what's the word.. packed? lecture-based? stressful? LOL. I just hope i'd do fine. *crosses fingers*. The fact is i just got into the plain lazy mode since the holidays began. The only nice thing about the timetable is that it's colourful LOL.

Aww man no more late night L4D n sleepovers until 2 years later, as i would hardly have any holidays. Oh i can't wait to get back tertiary ezlink so that i can use back my concession and not have to top up every so often. There's one lucky thing about going to sp for university, is that i wouldn't have to find my way around the school with a map or by asking strangers lol.

I think i'll stop now and try to enjoy my last bit of carefree holidays while i can. TTFN~

Days of slacking

Yeah i'm slacking all i can now before school starts on the 3 August. I did try to find a job that has nothing to do with sales/promoter but none of them got back to me so i made a point to rot as much as possible cos once school starts it'll be 2 whole years worth of studying/attachment period.

Been playing PC, Lara Croft Legend recently on my lappy. Sadly L4D doesn't work perhaps it's cos it's windows vista and it's not original L4D =P cos it load fine on my desktop but my desktop doesn't have a graphics card thus it lags like hell.

Went to cornelia's house last week lmao she bought her white ps3 and a 37inch LCD tv just for it. Pretty awesome really. Too bad there's only one ps3 controller. Watched Ice Age 3 and Harry Potter on sunday. Ice Age 3 was fine it was amusing as usual. But potter got worse.. Even people who never read the book said it was boring especially the ending as they left out a huge battle scene within hogworts. I'm no going to say too much here just in case the people reading this hasn't watch potter. (for more discussion on potter read my other blog)

Oh man i hope i'm not too rusty for school lol since i've been away from school work for 4months? i think.. oh well TTFN~
